Design rules
These constraints are decision aids, not obstacles. Designing within them removes uncertainty, supports faster analysis, and creates the clearest path to a speedy turnaround.
Design constraints
- Use simple, functional geometry with consistent wall thickness.
- Design the part to release cleanly from a two-sided mold with adequate draft.
- Avoid trapped features, unnecessary undercuts, and cosmetic-only complexity.
- Use ribs, radii, and gradual transitions instead of thick solid sections.
- Provide a production-ready STEP file at the intended finished dimensions.
Material constraints
- Choose from the thermoplastics offered in the configurator.
- Use standard, commercially available grades unless Lean Mean approves an exception.
- Material selection must suit the part geometry, wall thickness, and intended use.
- Special additives, certifications, or unusual performance requirements may not fit the standard process.
Color constraints
- Black is the standard production color and offers the simplest path to fast turnaround.
- Other colors are limited to available standard colorants and may affect price or lead time.
- Exact color matching and appearance-critical finishes are outside the standard offering for now.
- Color availability is confirmed before an order moves into production.
